I was so happy to hear that Charlotte and Henry were coming back to see me again for Charlotte’s 7-month portraits.  The shot of the two of them together from Charlotte’s newborn session is still one of my favorite sibling images.  They have both grown up so much since this spring – but they are both as darling as ever.

Thanks so much for coming to play!  Come back any time–I always have race cars, Smarties and puffs on hand:).

I recently had some time open up unexpectedly in my schedule and in honor of the quickly approaching Thanksgiving holiday, I wanted to try something a little different. In the wake of the natural distress and disaster that our area has faced in recent months, I am reminded again of how very lucky we are to live in a time and a place where we can generally take simple things like clean drinking water as a matter of course. I know it’s not the same everywhere, but it could be. With that in mind, I have decided to offer a limited number of last-minute special holiday mini-sessions this coming Saturday, November 19.

A donation will be made to Charity: Water for every session booked, which I am so very excited about. Charity: Water is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. I also love that 100% of public donations given to the Charity: Water organization go directly toward funding water projects (overhead and salary monies come from private donors and foundations). For more information, please visit http://www.charitywater.org/.

Sessions will last 20 minutes (one outfit, one backdrop), will take place in my Clifton Park studio, and will result in 5-10 final images. All ordering will be done in person at the studio on Saturday, December 3rd. I have prepared 3 exclusive collections for these sessions, each with a digital and a print option to best suit my clients’ holiday needs. Collection prices include the session fee for the session. Add-on products will also be available for purchase at special holiday pricing. A $350 deposit is required upon booking to reserve your session.

I will need to have at least 4 spots booked by this Wednesday, November 16th to be able to offer these special sessions, and there will be a maximum of 8 spots available, so if you are interested please contact me as soon as possible:).  You can find more specific details below along with some sample holiday cards.

I hope to see some of you this coming Saturday, but if I don’t, have a fantastic holiday season!

Despite appearances recently on this blog, I do have more than one child.  And I do love all five of them equally:).  I have been wanting to go out and take portraits of my two-year old in the fall colors for a while now, but with five kids, a newborn, a home to keep up, no sleep, reoccurring sore throats (see previous mention of no sleep), a husband in grad school and working full-time, and New York’s unpredictable weather, I wasn’t sure that would happen.  But it did.  Sure, it was horribly overcast and lightly sprinkling the whole time we were out, but we made it happen.  And while beautiful light is always, always desired and inspiring and takes images to that next level, there’s something to be said for cuteness in any weather.

Love you bunches.

Mom

Well, here we are, at the end of the true newborn images.  I love my babies and I love my job, so to be able to do my job with my own baby girl has been so blissfully wonderful.  Hard, exhausting, and a lot of work, but such a gift.

What an amazing 3 weeks!

She stole it right away.  I have been waiting anxiously to meet Miss Greta since her mama’s maternity session at the end of last year.  It’s always an honor to shoot for another photographer, and as a photographer, I know what a treasure it is to see your child through someone else’s lens.  And how much easier it is to be the mama at the shoot instead of the photographer.

Ashley brought Greta in for 9-month portraits in her christening gown–made from Ashley’s own wedding gown.  It was absolutely gorgeous.  As was Miss Greta.  And her expressions!  I could stare at her sweet little face all day long.  Ashley, it’s amazing you can bring yourself to do anything else.  She is truly a miracle.
