What an amazing year 2012 has been! I was able to photograph so many former clients, and the very best part were the 11 former newborn clients who came back this year as big brothers or sisters. I feel so completely blessed to have been so supported here in New York. It will be hard to leave my amazing clients, but I hope to meet families just as wonderful very soon in Kansas City. It is both humbling and gratifying to look back on a year of work and remember all of the beautiful people I was able to spend the day or evening with.

I am so excited to be blogging this session.  When I first took the inquiry for these little guys, I was pretty apprehensive.  Twin 8-week olds and their 2-yr old puppy?  It kind of sounded like a practical joke newborn photographers might play on each other.  But mom was so nice and knowing that premie babies can either end up being like newborns or like two-month olds, I told her we’d try.  What a pleasant surprise these little guys were.  Don’t get me wrong, it was a tough session and I could barely walk the next day after the 5 hours of squatting, rocking, shushing and soothing, but what good little sleepers they still were (thank heaven for pacifiers!).  Mama said that changed about a week after the session.  And puppy Sophie did a great job too:).

But so individual.  It’s so amazing how quickly these little personalities develop in such tiny people.  Oliver and Isla are both so darling, but they definitely have their own temperaments, personalities, likes and dislikes.  What a joy to get to know and photograph these sweet babies!

Oliver was such a sweetheart – just stole my heart away.  I think he liked me too:).

Isla, well, she’s probably not going to be giving me a BFF necklace any time soon, but oh my heavens, she’s a cutie:).
