My Approach

March 23, 2009

I believe that our lives are shaped by infinite simple, every day moments.  While we tend to focus on the major changes and events that happen in our lives, these turning points are always the direct result of the little day to day decisions and experiences that have helped us become who we are today.  As a photographer, I want to focus on those simple things that make us who we are: the pure beauty of a mother contemplating the tiny person growing inside of her, the soft tuft of newborn hair, a toddler’s infectious smile, the unspoken connection between siblings, the adoring way a husband holds his wife’s hand–those are the things that matter.  Those are the things that shape our families, guide our decisions, and help us grow into the people we will become.

As a parent myself, I know that life passes too quickly while sometimes seeming not to pass at all.  I feel honored by your choice to allow me to capture those moments in the life of your family.  Because, while our lives are filled with quiet, joyful, crazy, sweet, and fleeting moments, there definitely aren’t any small moments.
